Come and join us for an afternoon of discussion and sharing with the launch of Parkinson's Voices.
The nine authors of Parkinson's Voices all have Parkinson's Disease, and this works showcases their journeys in coping & dealing with the disease. The book is intended for anyone who wants to get an authentic perspective on PD, from the inside.
The book is a groundbreaking work and is a testament to their determination to educate and inform others of how they continue to move forward with their lives. More importantly, they hope that the writing will promote greater understanding of what it means to live with PD and inspire dialogue with families, friends and caregivers, medical professionals and anyone with an interest in the fastest growing neurodegenerative disease in the world today.
Opening remarks by Lyman Clayborn, Brooklyn Public Library's Manager for Services for Older Adults followed by insights from some of the authors.
Refreshments will be served and there will be an opportunity to mingle with the authors, ask questions and even purchase the book.
The Writing Circle came together in 2024 and has helped improve the well-being of participants through greater awareness and acceptance of their situation.
