This event is for teens aged 13-19, and requires registration. This hands-on knife skills workshop for teens introduces essential techniques while exploring how cooking connects to environmental justice. Participants will learn how proper knife skills can reduce food waste, make the most of fresh ingredients, and support more sustainable, thoughtful food choices, empowering them to see everyday cooking as a way to care for their communities and the planet.
Erika Mayol is a Brooklyn-based culinary educator and the owner of Chop Cook Cake, a recreational cooking school rooted in creativity, culture, and connection. Inspired by a lively childhood kitchen filled with shared meals and global flavors, Erika brings warmth, energy, and a passion for teaching young people how to cook with confidence and purpose.
