It's time to LevelUP! Step into the world of tech and cybersecurity through our free, public programming and 10-week training cohort.

 

About LevelUP

LevelUP is Brooklyn Public Library’s free workforce development program designed to help Brooklyn residents build the technical and professional skills needed for career growth, financial stability, and long-term success.

The program offers:

  • Technology-focused training
  • Career readiness and professional development workshops
  • A Cybersecurity Certificate through the Grow with Google initiative
  • Access to mentors, industry exposure, and job-seeking support

Applications for the Spring 2026 Technology/Cybersecurity Cohort closed on January 25, 2026. All application updates will be sent out in February. For questions, please email levelup@bklynlibrary.org.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who can apply?

You must be 18 years of age or older to apply, and you must be a Brooklyn resident with a Brooklyn address, and hold a BPL Card.

I do not live in Brooklyn, am I still eligible?

No, LevelUP is currently only available to Brooklyn residents.

Is the program virtual or in person?

The LevelUP Program is offered on a hybrid (offering both in-person and virtual evening class sessions twice a week).

How do I get started? When are the Information Sessions?

Information sessions are currently being offered virtually on the following dates:

  • December 15, 2025
  • January 5, 2026
  • January 20, 2026

Can I apply for more than one cycle or industry?

Currently, LevelUP is only offering Technology/Cybersecurity for the Spring 2026 Cycle.  Once you are selected for a cycle you will not be eligible for any other cycles and cannot reapply.

Will I be required to submit additional information?

Yes, to assess your skill and experience level, you are required to submit a resume as part of your application.

What is the deadline for the application?

Applications for the Spring 2026 Cohort are due January 25, 2026 by 11:59 PM EST. The application link will go live on December 15, 2025.
