From the Interns: Junior Year: College Prep Scholars

Andriana

I’m back but this time, without a book review (alas, next time). It’s time to talk about something incredibly important for my juniors: College Prep Scholars.
If you’re a high-achieving, low-income junior, College Prep Scholars allows you to get a head start on preparing for college applications, gain a supportive community of motivated peers and get access to summer programs, scholarships, personalized support and more. It is an incredible opportunity that provides resources to help YOU, yes YOU, gain admission to top-tier colleges. If you get chosen, you also have a higher probability of becoming a finalist for Questbridge’s National College Match program, a full-ride scholarship to any of Questbridge’s 55 partnered universities that you successfully get matched with.
If you:
→ Earn primarily A’s in the most challenging courses your school offers
→ Demonstrate intellectual curiosity
→ Your household earns less than $65,000 annually for a family of four (with minimal assets)
→ Demonstrate academic capability, resilience and ability to succeed
Then what are you waiting for?
The deadline for College Prep Scholars is March 24. You will need one reference from a teacher (no need for letter of recommendation), a personal statement of 300-500 words, complete an activity section, confirm personal and financial details and send in your transcript! You can also apply for Awards, which not only gives you the opportunity to earn a Quest For Excellence award worth $1,000 but also allows you to apply to college summer programs hosted by Yale, UChicago, WashU and more, all funded by College Prep Scholars.
For those who earn a little over $65,000 per year, please still apply! Only 90% of 2025 College Prep Scholars had a household income under $65,000, meaning 10% earned more. If you have any unique financial circumstances, you can also let College Prep Scholars know.

Good luck!
