Frequently Asked Questions

Your default PIN is your birthday, with two digits for the month and two digits for the day. (For example, if your birthday is May 25, your default password is 0525.) If that does not work, you can reset your PIN.

Patrons may renew their full-access library cards by visiting any open BPL location and showing appropriate ID. Learn more about available library card types.

Patrons holding a Welcome Card will be able to renew their own accounts as they expire. Visit our Welcome Card FAQ for more information.

The Library does not accept donations. Unsolicited donations left at our buildings will be recycled.

If you're interested in facilitating or hosting a program at the library, please submit your suggestion via this form. Cardholders are also welcome to reserve meeting rooms online at several branches around Brooklyn.
