Seated exercise — performing movements while sitting in a chair — is far more than just stretching. It can be an effective, low-impact way to improve your health, strength, and well-being, especially if you have limited mobility, balance issues, or want a convenient workout.
Even while seated, exercises like marching, leg lifts, or arm movements may raise your heart rate, improve circulation, lower blood pressure, and enhance lung capacity.
Due to limited space, small groups of 5 or more including day programs must contact the library in advance to schedule a sit and be fit program.
